Dear Colleagues,

19 November 2010 marks the 90-th anniversary of Vladyslav Elijovych Lyantse (1920 – 2007), the founder of the modern school of functional analysis in Lviv.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to invite you to take part in the International conference on functional analysis dedicated to the 90-th anniversary of V. E. Lyantse, which will take place at Lviv Franko National University on 17–21 November 2010.

The conference will be focused on (but not limited to) the following areas of functional analysis:

  1. operator theory;
  2. methods of nonstandard analysis;
  3. Banach space theory;
  4. infinite-dimensional holomorphy;
  5. topological methods in functional analysis.

The preliminary program of the conference is as follows:
17 Nov (Wed) – arrival, registration, and welcome party;
18 Nov (Thu) – opening, plenary and sectional talks;
19 Nov (Fri) – plenary and sectional talks, reminiscences about V.E.Lyantse, wreath-laying on the grave of V.E.Lyantse, conference dinner;
20 Nov (Sat) – plenary and sectional talks;
21 Nov (Sun) – excursion and departure.

Duration of the talks is 45 min (plenary) and 15 or 25 min (sectional).

The official languages of the conference are Ukrainian, English, and Russian.

The conference fee is UHR 150 for participants from Ukraine and the former CIS and EUR 100 for foreign participants, to be paid in cash upon registration.
